The Chevy C15A was powered by an 85 hp 6-cylinder in-line gasoline engine.   It had a listed top speed of 46 mph, and on average got 13 miles per gallon.   It could also climb a 53 percent maximum grade and had a fording depth of 2 feet.







Part of the success of the CMP program came from the standardization of parts across a range of trucks that included 8-cwt, 15-cwt, and 30-cwt.   It was also produced with a variety of cabs, and a multitude of beds that included water and fuel tankers, ambulances and recovery vehicles.   Over 900,000 Canadian vehicles were produced within the five years of the war.
